Overview
Elec-T is an electricity intelligence platform operated by Energy MRC, a registered energy consulting and data services firm based in Abuja, Nigeria. This policy explains what information we collect when you use the platform, how we use it, and what rights you have over it.
Elec-T is a free, open-access platform. We do not require registration or payment to access any published data. We collect only the minimum information necessary to operate and improve the platform.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to any third party. Data collected from platform users is used exclusively to improve the Elec-T service.
Data We Collect
We collect two categories of information: usage data generated automatically when you interact with the platform, and contact datayou provide voluntarily.
Usage data (collected automatically)
- Pages visited and dashboard sections viewed
- Browser type, device category, and operating system
- Approximate location (country/region level only — derived from IP address)
- Referral source (how you arrived at the platform)
- Session duration and interaction patterns
- Error events and performance metrics
Contact data (provided voluntarily)
- Name and email address, when you submit a contact or feedback form
- Message content you choose to send us
We do not collect financial information, national identification numbers, or sensitive personal data of any kind.
How We Use It
Usage data is used solely for the following purposes:
- Understanding which datasets and dashboards are most useful, so we can prioritise improvements
- Diagnosing technical errors and improving platform stability
- Measuring aggregate platform reach (number of visits, active sessions)
- Producing anonymised, aggregated usage reports for internal planning
Contact data is used to:
- Respond to your enquiries, feedback, or data requests
- Follow up on partnership or collaboration proposals
We do not use any collected data for advertising targeting, behavioural profiling, or automated decision-making that affects users.
Our Data Sources
The electricity and energy data published on Elec-T is sourced from official regulatory, government, and international bodies. We do not generate or estimate primary data — all figures are sourced directly from the institutions listed below.
Source attribution is displayed on every dashboard. If you identify a discrepancy between Elec-T data and official records, please contact us at elec-t@energy-mrc.com.
Data Retention
- Usage/analytics data — retained for up to 24 months in anonymised, aggregated form, then deleted.
- Contact form submissions — retained for 12 months after the last correspondence, then deleted.
- Server logs — retained for 90 days for security and debugging purposes, then automatically purged.
Energy and electricity data published on the platform is public domain and retained indefinitely as part of the historical dataset.
Your Rights
You have the following rights over any personal information we hold about you:
- Access — request a copy of any personal data we hold relating to you.
- Correction — request that inaccurate information be corrected.
- Deletion — request that we delete your contact data. Note: anonymised usage data cannot be attributed to an individual and therefore cannot be deleted on a per-user basis.
- Objection — object to processing of your personal data for any purpose other than responding to your own enquiry.

Third-Party Services
Elec-T uses a limited number of third-party services to operate the platform. Each service has its own privacy policy:
- Hosting infrastructure — our servers are hosted on cloud infrastructure compliant with industry security standards. Data remains within jurisdictions with adequate data protection frameworks.
- Analytics — aggregate usage analytics are processed internally. Any third-party analytics tool used operates under a data processing agreement that prohibits cross-site tracking or sale of data.
- Email — contact form submissions are routed through our email provider. Message content is accessible only to Elec-T staff.
We do not embed advertising networks, social media tracking pixels, or any third-party script with access to your browsing history on this platform.
